Human beings are born free and have the power to express themselves willingly.
To create public awareness about the social, cultural and physical rights and to ensure the welfare of society in every possible context, Human Rights Day 2020 is celebrated every year today (December 10) globally. Every year, a new theme is set to observe this day and make people aware of their fundamental human rights as well as their responsibilities as a part of society.
This year, the United Nations has set the theme for Human Rights Day 2020 as 'Recover Better -- Stand Up For Human Rights'. The theme relates to the COVID-19 pandemic and focuses on the need to build back better by ensuring Human Rights are central to recovery efforts, according to the United Nations.
