The Invisible Man: Story of Anant | Rishabh Shukla
Backstabbing's old news; kindness is the new chic. Pat a back, don’t break a spirit. Kindness is the new Jimmy Choo.
The Invisible Man: A Living Ghost in His Own Home
Anant had spent his entire life fulfilling every demand of his family. A selfless father, a devoted husband, a dutiful son. Yet, he was invisible. His needs were ignored, his emotions ridiculed.
Every morning, he left home before sunrise, worked tirelessly, and returned late to cold dinners and colder stares. No one asked if he had eaten, if he was tired, if he was okay. His mother only called him to remind him of bills. His wife saw him as a provider, not a partner. His children looked up to him only when they needed money.
One night, after another lonely dinner, he whispered, "If I disappeared, would anyone even notice?"
He decided to find out. The next morning, he left—but not for work. He sat in a park, staring at the world he had no place in. Hours passed. No calls. No messages. Nothing. He was right—he was invisible.
Just as he stood to leave forever, a small hand grabbed his shirt. His youngest daughter, crying. "Papa, I was scared! You never miss a day. We searched everywhere!"
For the first time in years, someone had noticed. He hugged her, realizing—maybe, just maybe, he wasn’t invisible after all.
