Bhai Dooj is one of the very few festivals which celebrate the close bond of siblings. On this day, which is observed on Dwitiya Tithi of Chaitra, Krishna Paksha, brothers visit their sisters and they perform puja. Yes, sisters apply tilak on their brother's foreheads and pray for their wellbeing. Bhai Dooj is celebrated twice a year, the first one takes place in the Chaitra Mass and is known as Holi Bhai Dooj, the second one takes place in Kartika Maas which falls a day after Diwali, and is called Bhai Dooj.
